The
Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority is the lead
agency for
industrial recruitment and expansion in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. Through
the support
of local government, TCIDA provides "one-stop shopping" for manufacturing
and distribution
investors interested in site locations for new or expanding operations.

Since its incorporation in 1975, the Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development
Authority has maintained its original mission of creating quality jobs while
becoming a driving force in the development of Tuscaloosa County and the surrounding
region. TCIDA fosters continued partnerships between business, governmental,
and educational interests of the community and looks to the future with a
regional focus. Through its efforts, the community has grown into an internationally
focused community with diverse multinational industries doing business with
the world - from Tuscaloosa County, Alabama.
Currently,
Tuscaloosa County enjoys manufacturing investments from six countries: Canada,
Germany, France, Italy, Japan and the
United Kingdom. In 1994, TCIDA was named one of the top ten Economic Development
Organizations in the United States by
Area Development magazine.
TCIDA is governed by a 22-member board of directors and is funded by the cities of Tuscaloosa and Northport, and Tuscaloosa County.
